We did it. Well, my keyboard and I did it.

I am incredibly excited to share that the first draft of my next book is officially finished.

There is nothing quite like the feeling of typing that final sentence, stepping back, and realizing that the raw, chaotic, beautiful skeleton of a story is completely on the page. It’s a mix of pure euphoria and “oh wow, now I have to clean this up.”

If you’ve been following my writing journey, you know I love diving into dark, atmospheric worlds where the stakes are high, the magic has a cost, and the characters are beautifully flawed. This book pushed me into some incredible new territory, and I cannot wait for you to experience this world.

So, what happens now?

Because the first draft is done, it means the real work is about to begin. Here is what the roadmap looks like from here:

  • The Cooling-Off Period: I’m letting the manuscript sit for just a bit so I can return to it with fresh eyes.
  • The Deep-Dive Edits: This is where I go in with a scalpel to tighten the pacing, deepen the tension, and make sure the magic system hits exactly the way it’s supposed to.
  • Behind-the-Scenes Prep: While I’m polishing the prose, things will also start moving on the visual side—cover design concepts, formatting prep, and getting things ready for eventual formatting and review.

Want to stay in the loop?

I’ll be sharing more concrete details soon—including the official title, a sneak peek at the premise, and eventually, the cover reveal.

If you want to be the first to know when pre-orders go live, or if you want some exclusive behind-the-scenes snippets from the editing desk, make sure you’re signed up for my newsletter right here on the site.

Thank you all for the incredible support. Writing can be a solitary grind, but knowing I have readers like you waiting on the other side makes every single word worth it.

Now, time to go celebrate briefly before the revision cave calls me back!

What are you reading while you wait? Let me know in the comments!
